A large gemmy and sea blue fluorite with yellow core and alternating intense blue stripes with contrasting yellow. Associated with the fluorite are lustrous doubly terminated white quartz. This specimen is almost a floater. Discovered in 2006, this specimen was profesionally prepped in lab for display (with minor restorations on a small corner and edges). Jewel of French mineralogy, blue fluorite is sought after by collectors from all around the world. Le Burg mine, in the Albi fluorite district, was a major fluor mine operated from 1943 to 2006 that produced 1.2 Mt of fluor.
