description :
Size: Large Cabinet 6.25 X 4.75 X 2 inches
A fine specimen of stunning sea green fluorite from one of the worlds most acclaimed fluorite localities, the Rogerley Mine, Frosterley, County Durham, Weardale District, England measuring a whopping 6.25 X 4.75 X 2 inches in size. This wonderful piece has excellent top coverage of unusual deep sea green intergrown cubic fluorite crystals reaching a maximum diameter of 3/4 inch. These fluorites are one of a kind! They are a very unique color, and exhibit a color change between natural sunlight and artificial light, being pure green under artifical light and green and purple-blue under sunlight. These fluorites are reknown worldwide as being some of the most fluorescent minerals in existance. The fluorite crystals are included with rare earth minerals that have incredible fluorescent capabilities and actually fluoresce from the ultra-violet rays given off by the sun, thus the purple-blue color change on the fringes of the crystals under natural sunlight, and under UV light they fluoresce a super bright purple-blue.
