Description: China’s Wutong mine has been nicknamed ‘the Chinese Sweet Home Mine”, and for good reason- it is one of the few worldwide localities other than the Sweet Home mine to produce large, blocky, intense cherry-red rhodochrosite crystals. Now closed, this small underground silver mine only produced superb rhodochrosite crystals for about 5 years in the mid-2000’s. This is an excellent specimen featuring a large, vibrant red rhodochrosite crystal nearly 7 cm tall on matrix. With label from Collector's Edge.
